Hello, Bonjour, Ciao, and Hola Everyone!

I would just like to give you an update on some changes happening at digital pulse. (Don’t worry, these are good changes). By the way, its good to be back, I had a good holiday, ate loads, but now I’m happy to be back. Once again I will thank Andrew for helping out and its nice to see some new listeners have joined us whilst I’ve been away. Hocaky, on with the post.

Happy Anniversary!

Yep, digital pulse is now a month old! Well thats if you include the first show, so really we have hit a month on Monday. So send your presents to the address listed below :P.

Theme Music and “Audio Branding”

Now with some proper news. Finally, Finally, a month late, on Monday is going to be produced with the new “Audio Branding” which is essentially an arse way of saying theme music. It is a little more than theme music though and I will probably do a video to explain it, for those interested. If you want the potted marketing b***s*** version then its, “An Audio Branding package that includes multiple musical elements designed to fit multiple situations. These elements are built with strong musically stylistic features to reflect the content and target audience, and is designed to create a unified audio imaging idea which can be easily modified and expanded for future projects”.  Hope that was enough BS for you, and its a bonus if you like them.

So long PodPress

For the longest time now PodPress has been my chosen Wordpress Podcasting Plugin of choice. This is mainly because its been the default answer for when you ask anyone about podcasting with Wordpress. However on Friday I was informed that the good folks over at the BluBrry podcasting network also have their own podcasting plugin. So fed up with an half-functional out of date Podpress I decided to give PowerPress a try. So I installed it on my testing server, dicked around with for a bit, got it how I wanted it, and now I am pleased to announce that digital pulse is now running on PowerPress! I don’t want to say too much for making this a long post but it was fairly painless. What does it mean for you? Well basically I’m covering my but in case something goes wrong like the feed collapses. Touch wood that won’t happen though.

Website Update

I have also spent some time polishing off the website. All the pages are now complete, the site now has an functioning archives page and you can now send feedback through the web form on the contact page. The about page has also now been updated with some proper content.

Promoting the show

After a month I feel that the show has been tested and proven enough and we can now start going out and promoting it. So I would ask you, if you know anyone who would be interested in the show, tell them about it and start spreading the word. Even if you just send the link to 1 person, it all helps!

Donations
To cover some of the initial costs of setting up the podcast as well as contributing to the hosting bill, we are now accepting donations. This is a good way of proving your support and telling us you like the show. Hi Everybody,

I just thought I would give you a little update on how things are going on here at digital pulse hq. As you know we have just completed the second week of digital pulse and although it has been hard at times we have made it. I think this last week has gone particularly well, this probably due to a lot less technical problems.

So, after looking at digital pulse over the last fortnight I have decided to change a few things around. Now that sounds a lot more dramatic than it actually is. Basically, to fit in with what I want to do in future with the show, I have decided to shift the release time to 5pm GMT, so that works out at 1pm EST and 10 am PST.

Also, I haven’t really talked about the music. The word at the moment is that “I’m still working on it”. The plan was to have the music ready for when we released, however, after looking at what I wanted done I decided it would take a lot longer than expected. So I am spending the time on doing it properly.

We will also have a treat for you on Friday, I won’t say anymore. That’s it from me and I will be back Monday at the new time of 5PM (GMT).
